This picture doesn't have anything to do with my Mom's birthday, I just can't get over how cute my baby is! Check out those blue eyes! (The computer doesn't do them justice.)
I hope you have a fantastic day Mom!

Pics from our weekend

My little artist! I was doing the dishes on Sunday and Daniel asked if I knew what Anna was doing. He brought her in showing me her lovely masterpiece. I was surprised by this. Lucky for me my kids have never drawn on the walls, cut their hair, or gone to town drawing on themselves. Until now. I asked her why and she said she couldn't find any paper. Look at that face. Priceless!

Kalissa's hair on Sunday. I am always looking for ways to keep Kalissa's hair out of reach for her to chew on it. She likes to chew on her hair. Wierd.
Jaina is almost turning over. I was so surprised. I don't remember how old babies usually are when they start doing this.

I had Jaina on the counter while I fixed dinner. She is just starting to grab things with her hands. She doesn't have much control when she has them but loves to grab anyway. This time she found the flowers Daniel gave me for our anniversary.

Happy Anniversary to Us

Daniel and I have been married 8 years today! We met 9 years ago today for the first time, although we had written letters for over a year previously. (It was nice to get married in 2000, it is not hard to remember how many years it has been.)

We have had a great 8 years. 3 beautiful little girls have joined us, (who wonder why they don't have a brother like everyone else), 4 different homes, (all in the same town), many different cars, (I wrecked quite a few, some with the help of deer running into me), fun family times all the time and just happiness.

I sure love him lots and lots!

Since we were married right before everything went digital I don't have any pictures to stick on here so everyone can see how cute and relatively wrinkle free (I sware I am wrinkling) we were. But i'll scan one some day and post it. Check back for it.

Goodbye Hillview Elementary

While I was in Utah last weekend I was able to see my elementary school for probably the last time. They are knocking it down. Sad :(

We hopped the fence and walked through the halls one last time. (Since the doors didn't have locks on and most were shattered.) It will be a very different sight from my parents house. As far as we know they are leaving the school grounds and will probably build another school down the road when they need to. Which is good. We are just glad they are not building apartments.

Kalissa's First Day of 1st Grade

Today Kalissa started school again. A big 1st grader! She was excited to have 3 recesses and to be able to eat lunch at school.

She woke up this morning at 3 am. She had to ask me if I had set her alarm so she could get up on time. I told her no. Then she asked if I had set my alarm and I told her no. She was very distressed. Thank goodness she went back to bed. (Although I was up the rest of the time with Jaina.) When I finally woke her up around 7, she had a bath and then told us that maybe she shouldn't go to school today becuase her stomach hurt. I think she had butterflies. Hopefully she has a good day. I am sure that Annalin will miss her very much.

She is in Ms. Cranmer's class.

Weekend in Utah

More pictures from our weekend in Utah. We made pizza's for dinner in my parents outside oven after church. Annalin thought the flour was good and was liking it off the table. (See picture below.)

Andrew came Home!!!!

The girls holding up their signs to welcome him home.

My "baby" brother came home from his mission on Saturday August 16th from Mexico. We were all so excited to see him. He looks great and the kids are all glad to have another Uncle around to play with. We were also glad to have my Mom and Dad back too. They were able to go down and spend a little over a week with him.

Funny Things

It has been so fun to watch the olympics. I love it!!! I can't wait until the track and field events come on. GO USA!!!

The other night we were watching the mens gymnastics. It happened to be the floor routines. I told Kalissa to come watch the guy flip across the floor. She watched for a minute and asked if he was doing "cree-autee." (Karate)

At church on Sunday I had to take Anna to the bathroom. We were walking down the hall and she had her tongue hanging out, and she was panting kind-of like a dog does. I asked her what she was doing, she told me she was trying to freeze her tongue.

One day last week Anna was sitting on the front porch. She had her head in her hands and leaning against her knees. I asked her what was wrong. She said, "nofing, i'm just boring." (bored)

Funny Kids.

3 Months Old

My baby is growing way to fast. Jaina is already 3 months old today! She is such a fun baby. Already sleeps through the night (5-6 hours at least), loves to make the cutest noises, stick her tongue out, doesn't like having her arms or legs covered, EVER (which makes feeding in public interesting :)), she is just a perfect little one. Sure love her!
In the picture she is sporting a lovely t-shirt made by her Uncle Dave, which is available for purchase if anyone wants to dress thier kids in skull designs. :)

Summer PJ's

Do you ever have a great idea and then it doesn't work out as planned? Well this year I thought I would make the girls some summer pj's. I bought the material early in the year and was all set to go. Well now that the summer is almost over I finished them, one pair at least. I don't know where all the time goes. It seems like the days pass so quickly. I can't ever seem to get much done.

Maybe I will work on the others and finish them some time before winter. But then again there is always next summer!

Slip-n-Slide Fun

My girls are funny. They haven't really figured out that you run and slide. Kalissa will do it every once in a while but Anna runs down it and sometimes falls on her bum at the end. (See picture above.)

Jaina loved watching her sisters. It appeared that she wanted to join them. We did let her get her feet a little wet.
- This was her first time touching the grass and I was surprised that she didn't mind it at all.

August 4th

Anna was helping me rake up the grass. I tried to explain how we use a rake but again she had to do it her way.

1. Lay rake on ground
2. Gather grass with hands
3. Place gathered grass on rake
4. Pick up rake carry to big pile and dump.

She was so funny to watch.

I am glad it is over

I never wanted to read this series. Last summer my Mom and sister were reading it and I never had any interest. (Which was probably good considering I was doing my student teaching and would have focused on nothing else.) But some time later I picked up Twilight and could not stop reading! I couldn't believe I would have to wait a year to find out what would happen to Bella.
I went and picked up Breaking Dawn early Saturday morning. I couldn't just sit and read though. I had breakfast to make, kids to bathe, house to clean, laundry to fold, diapers to change, canning to do, etc. (My list could just keep going and going!) Some how I did get to read and boy did I read! It was exciting and sad at the same time. I am glad to have it over though. It is fun to see what happened. I thought Stephanie Meyer did a great job with her characters. I think that some take what she wrote out of context and it ruins it. I thought she wrote just enough and not to much of what happens. I liked the book. (It is just a book after all.) Despite all the negative comments people have made regarding it.
I will read the series again and maybe when my girls are 18 or so I will let them read it so I can talk with them about it. I certainly think that it is for a mature audience. I finished the last 10 pages that I just couldn't keep my eyes open for last night, this morning.
That was my exciting weekend. I can't wait to hear what others thought about the book.
I am sure my kids will be happy to have their Mom back. I am somewhat of a zombie when I find a book I like.
