Sickness at our house

Everyone except me is sick. The pictures say it all. MISERABLE! Coughing, stuffy, no sleep, we've got it all. I've been overdosing myself on Vitamin C, so far it has worked.

A few more Pic's from Utah

We decided to go to church with Grandpa on Sunday. After we went and spent a little time with him. He gave Jaina her bear. He gives all the new babies a bear. She loves it!

Kalissa and I decorated the rest of the cookies that were left over from our party on Saturday. We should probably become professionals!

Kalissa insisted I take a picture of her house before it was destroyed. The legos were a big hit all weekend, with ALL of the kids.

Grandma's Funeral Feb. 13th, 2009

Friday, February 13th, 2009. It was a beautiful day. Before we headed to the cemetary we listened to her family (my Mother, Aunts and Uncles) give praise to thier mother. She was such an amazing woman. They told of her as a child, and adult. About the trips she loved to take and talents and hobbies she loved. I was reminded of so many amazing things about my wonderful Grandma and learned a few new things too. Grandpa was so strong, although he was obviously in pain and misses her so much.

ALL of the Wilcox Family.

It has been years since we have been together. And since Chris and Amy are due to have a baby any second (literally) it will once again be outdated.

Aren't we ADORABLE!!!!!

My Uncle. What a Q-T!

Back at Mom and Dad's after the funeral. The girls loved holding thier new baby cousin.

Grandma's Viewing

It was so nice to see so many people and visit with family. Grandma looked so great. Since I think it is a little wierd to take pictures of people in their casket, so I don't have one. But she looked so peaceful, just like she was sleeping.

On a happier note, Jaina is 9 months old.

Grandma Wertz 2/18/1926 - 2/8/2009

My sweet Grandma Shirley Jean Anderson Wertz passed away yesterday in her home with my Grandpa and much of our family with her, 10 days short of her 83rd birthday. We knew it was coming, and was certainly needed for her tired body, but it is still so hard. She was such a wonderful person! After the sobbing stopped, I quickly made a list of all the things that I remember about her and it went on for pages. I want to remember her always. Remember her how she was when I was a child. A few of my memories:

One of my most vivid early memories is her reading a book that I called "Kathryn" to me. I can hear her voice even now in my head. I had her read it to me all the time. I will remember her working in her yard planting crystal palace Lobelia and Orange impatients (she loved her yard and plants in general), trying to give everyone vanilla icecream cones and oreos (to this day I can't stand oreos, to many while young) , Memorial Day breakfast of Waffles, Strawberries and Whipping Cream (now we will go to remember her) her laugh and smile, the things from her travels all in their places at her home, Sleep-overs with cousins (and sometimes by myself when I was lucky), the days I would walk to her house after school from Evergreen (a long walk but I loved being with her) and so many more things that I want to share with my children who have only known her as her health has declined.

I am glad that she is with her parents and brothers and sisters that went before. For some of them it has been years, loosing a baby brother when he was only 3. But I will miss her! And think of her often.

Love you Grandma!

Here are a few pictures for posterity. I wish I had pictures of her from further back. However many were before the digital age and I will have to scan them. Look if you would like. She was such an amazing person!

Happy Birthday Michael!

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL!!!!! I know he will never read this becuase he never looks on here but maybe others that do will see him today and can wish him a good one! Also, he and his wife had their 4th baby on Saturday! Can't wait to see him and hear what his name is!

Those exciting 3-D glasses were the most exciting part of our weekend for sure. Although they didn't get what they were supposed to do and to tell you the truth, I didn't think the commercial was that exciting either.
