Dance Recital

These girls are getting to be pretty good dancers.  They are so fun to watch and really enjoy performing.  The theme this year was about movies so they danced to music off of movies.
Anna danced to Go The Distance from Hercules and Kalissa danced to A Thousand Years from one of the Twlight movies.

Amree and Jaina were excited to give their sisters flowers for doing such a great job.

For the 2nd dance Anna danced to Magic in Me from The Smurfs Movie and Kalissa danced to What I Like About You but I don't know what movie it is on.

Their teacher wanted sock buns for the performance, which I had never done before. Anna's hair is really long so I just put it over the form, braided the rest and wrapped it around.

Kalissa has an actual rolled up bun.  We braided the bottom so the shorter pieces would stay in.  It was loose and kind-of messy but it stayed in for cartwheels and lots of jumping around.  YAY!

St. George

The girls had their last days of school the week of Memorial Day. We had some exciting milestones with the end of school this year.  Jaina finished Kindergarten.  They didn't do a graduation so no pictures.  Anna is on to 4th grade, last grade at the elementary school.  Kalissa finished 6th so she's on to Jr. High.

We started our summer with a quick trip to St. George to see family and meet a new baby cousin that was coming.
We stopped at Grandpa's and Grandma's on our way through Salt Lake.  It was fun to see the progress on their new house.

Playing with toys that aren't your own is great! They loved Mya and Preston's room!
It was fun to be in warm weather. The girls had a lot of fun playing in the water.

These two were pretty cute together, most of the time.

Jaina and Mya

We were so excited to go see our new baby cousin.  Preston and Amree were so cute holding hands to cross the street.
Here is the handsome guy - Emmitt Andrew.  He was a surprise.  Becka and Jared didn't find out what they were having but I guessed boy.  (Michael and Julie will have theirs any day and I'm just stating right now I'm guessing a girl!)

Amree was in heaven holding this new baby!  She'll most likely never have a younger sibling so it's good she'll have some younger cousins to love and hold.

On the steps of the St. George temple.
We also were able to see Kenneth and his family.  Aunt Terry is a science teacher and had her pets home for the summer.  She got her critters out so the girls could see them.  Kalissa got really close with this gecko.
We celebrated Anna's birthday while we were there.  I made a bunch of small cakes so everyone could decorate their own.  Amree had a hard time keeping the frosting bags out of her mouth.

The last night before we went home we had a picnic at the park with Patti and her kids.  I didn't take many pictures but snagged this one of cute Enoch.  Check out that white hair.  What a cutie!!!

On our way home after a quick lunch at David's and Becki's we went back through Salt Lake to see Andrew and Lindsay's twins Henry and Norah.  They are so cute and little. They actually were able to go home yesterday June 12th.  We are all so happy they are doing so well.

Anna's 9!

Anna turned 9 on May 27th! Wow how is it possible the years are passing so quickly?

Anna celebrated by going to school and dance.  She took cookies to share with her class too. She opened presents after dance but we saved cake for the weekend.

She was excited to get a new pair of roller skates.
We had her birthday cake at the end of the week while we in St. George.
Here are a 2 pic's of us showing how we aged.  I look about the same right? ;) Anna looks adorable in both.  She was a beautiful baby and is now a beautiful young woman!  Sure love her!

Memorial Day - Quake Lake

On Memorial Day we drove up to Quake Lake.  We had never been up there before.  It was interesting to learn about the earthquake that made the lake.  A little sad too.

The lake wasn't very pretty. Because of all the spring run off it was quite muddy still.  But the view otherwise was amazing!

We also stopped by Hebgen lake.  The water was much more clear.

We threw rocks in the lake and got all fishy smelling. The girls had a great time!

We made the loop past the lakes and down through West Yellowstone. It was a perfect place to stop and have our picnic and play on the toys.

That night we had a cookout at Grandma Lusk's.  The girls had a great time playing with their cousins and Amree and Jaina were very excited to have a horse ride with Uncle Rodney.
