Kalissa lost her first tooth yesterday and boy what an EXCITING day it was! She lost it while eating her cookie at lunch.
"The lunch lady was so nice to me mom, she gave me an Easter Egg to put it in and told me to ask the Tooth Fairy for a million dollars."
(Since when do children get to ask the Tooth Fairy for anything?)
"Are you going to put it under your pillow?" I asked wondering to myself what tradition the Tooth Fairy should start with the children. Maybe she'll write '1 million dollars' on a piece of paper and place it under her pillow. She could get away with that right now.
"I'm not putting it under my pillow. I am taking it to Utah to show Grandma before the Tooth Fairy takes it. If I put it in my drawer will she take it?" Obviously very concerned that it would be gone if she didn't lay on it for protection.
"I don't think she takes them unless they are under pillows," I assured her.
"What does she do with all the teeth?"
"Collects them and puts her favorite on the wall," I suggested.
"I don't think she does that, Mom!"
"I guess will never know then."
I am wondering if the Tooth Fairy will ever end up with it. It is apparently a very cherished possession.

The first of many...
"Hey Mom I took my own picture!"
Kalissa and I had our first "boy" talk. Well she talked, I listened.
It went something like this:
Kalissa: "This boy I met always talks to me. I just don’t know why. When we cut my hair I want him to think I moved or something. I think he loves me. He must have a crush on me. Because he just keeps talking to me. When we play soccer he just talks to me.
Do you want to know his name Mommy? His name is Matthew. He has the same coat as Peter. Peter has a little reddish hair, just like Jaina.
He always wants to talks to me. I just don't know why."
It was all said in about 20 seconds. She said it so quickly I couldn't say anything. I didn't even get to answer if I wanted to know his name. She doesn't know what a crush is but I am sure she heard it somewhere at school. Funny things she comes home with.
