Pumpkin Carving

We finally decided to carve our pumpkins. It was such a nice day that we were able to do it outside on the porch.

Kalissa actually helped carve hers this year. Most of the time she doesn't want to touch it. But she kept asking why they had to be so slimy.

Daniel carved a cat on a broom on Jaina's and I carved a witch on a broom on Anna's and Kalissa's has a big cat on it.

Some of Jaina's Firsts

Jaina is close to sitting up by herself. She does but can't stay that way for long, before we know it she is kissing the floor.

Jaina had her fist taste of rice cereal this weekend. For a while now she has followed our movements when we eat and at times I have even let her have a drink of water out of a cup which she thinks is great. She was confused and wanted to suck the spoon. I think she liked it, but I don't know how much she actually ate.

Rolling over from her back to her front. She gets stuck on her arm and then plays the don't let my arms or legs touch the ground game. It's very funny.

The Lusk Family (Most of Us)

This was taken September 29, 2008 after Paul's furneral.

Keith and Gwen had 11 children. 9 Boys, 2 Girls
Those 11 children had 51 children. 17 Boys, 34 Girls
The Grandkids are working on making the family even larger. So far there are 2 Great-Grandbabies. 1 boy, 1 girl, and 5 more on the way.

Did you know Jesus wore Flip-Flops?

Last night during family home evening Daniel was reading the story of Alma the Younger to the girls. Some times Anna pays attention and most the time she doesn't. However when she saw the angel talking to Alma, she was very excited.

"Mom, mom look the angel has flip-flops on.

They are like mine.

Jesus wears flip-flops like I do, too."

It just made us smile.

Cookies Anyone???

Kalissa was given a Strawberry Shortcake cookbook in her Easter basket last year and wants to cook something ALL the time. Last night we dicided to make Berry Yummy Cookie Bars.
I love the smell of baking cookies or bread lingering though the house. It makes it seem very much like fall. (Which seems to be passing very quickly. It even snowed a little here yesterday.)

Can you believe these cheesey faces! She has no problem posing for the camera.

Conference Weekend in Utah

In Idaho the schools around us have Potato Harvest where the kids get out of school to help the farmers harvest thier potatoes. Kalissa gets 8 days off this year. We told her we would go down to Utah over her break so we went last weekend. It was fun to just get away and have a break from the usual. We had a fun time and the kids as usual, wished it wouldn't end.
The kids played at the school, when it wasn't raining.

Played with cousins during the priesthood session. (Isn't Sam cute!)
Watched movie's, painted fingernails, ate popcorn...
In between sessions on Sunday we had to go for a walk. They had to much energy. We took Sally (the dog) over to the school and walked around the field. The girls hung on the bars for a minute but everything else was wet from the rain the night before.
Kalissa, Elsie, and Anna.

Made rolls with Grandma for dinner on Sunday. (My Mom makes the BEST rolls!!!!)

Pics

Kalissa likes to take pictures of everything. She is going to be quite the photographer. The other day she got the camera and took a bunch of pictures of the lights on her ceiling. This time it was just her face.

Anna has as much chalk on her face as the sidewalk did.
Jaina will NOT take a pacifier. Somedays that is very annoying but I won't have to take it away which was such a pain with the other 2. She loves to suck her lower lip. You can kind of see it in the picture.
