Memorial Weekend in Utah

We spent Memorial weekend with our family in Utah. We had lots of fun with everyone but we wished it wouldn't have rained so much. Jaina got to me meet Grandpa and Grandma Wertz. Grandpa just kept holding her. It was very sweet. Thank goodness she was a good baby for him. Grandma Wilcox also gave rides to the kids on the lawn mower. They thought that was great fun!

More cute pictures from the hospital

Here are some more pictures from the hospital. (I am not a fan of me in the pictures but everyone else is cute.) I was just looking at them thinking I can't believe it has already been 3 weeks. She is growing so fast. I need to put new pictures of her on here so everyone can see how cute she is.

Kindergarten Graduation

Kalissa had her Kindergarten Graduation on Anna's birthday, May 27th. She did such a good job. They sang us songs and we watched a fun slide show of their pictures from the year. She is now a big 1st grader!

Happy Birthday Anna May 27 - 3 Years Old!

Anna had a fun birthday. We had her party at Grandma and Grandpa Wilcox's while we were there over the weekend. She was given so many fun gifts. She was given a scooter, a swimming suit, paper dolls for the bath tub, a gifaffe tent, a strawberry shortcake puzzle and more things that I am sure I have forgotten. When we got home from Utah we gave her some disney princess dolls and some shirts. The dolls are a hit. They have been playing with them ever since.

Anna's Birthday Cake

Annalin loves purple. She wanted a purple birthday cake. This is what she ended up with. I think she liked it though. I had to make my own purple coloring because the store didn't have any. But I think it turned out okay. It was purple and that was really what mattered.

Kalissa's First School Report

Kalissa had to do a report on an animal. She choose to do it on zebras. I didn't go and watch but she said she did it all on her own. I don't remember having to do a report in Kindergarten.

Kalissa's Dance Recital

Kalissa had her dance recital last weekend. She did so good. We curled her hair and Anna had to have hers fixed too.
She did dances to "Johhny Angel" and "Fly me to the Moon."
She has done so well this year in dance but we are not going to do it next year. She is so excited. I would have thought she would miss it and she may but right now she is glad to have her Fridays free and I am glad to not have the get ready for dance fight.

Baby Girl born May 8, 2008

Our little baby was born May 8, 2008 at 7:54 am. (She shares a birthday with Grandpa Wilcox.) She weighed 8lbs 8oz, and was 20 inches long. She has auburn colored hair and lots of it! She is cubby and soooo cute! I am still in the hospital but thought during nap times I could update. She is such a beautiful baby. We were surprised by all the hair not so much by the color though becuase both Daniel and I have red heads in our families. The girls were both so excited to see thier new sister. Kalissa was a little disappointed because she didn't have hair like hers. She wanted them to all be the same. But she keeps telling me that she is so cute. It would be nice to have a name to say instead of just baby. But so far we are still not agreeing on anything.
Everything went well with delivery. (Although my belly is now black and blue with a big cut through the middle of it.) She was born with water in her lungs so off she went to the oxygen tent. (Shown in the picture above. Daniel was a good sport to follow her around and take pictures for me.) They took me through to see her on the way to my room and said she may have to stay in there for 24 to 48 hours but luckily I had her within the next 4 hours. She is still doing very well today.
I will update more later.

Baby

I read this and thought it was sweet but also neat since I am having a baby tomorrow.

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?'

God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.

'The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.'

God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?'

God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.' '

And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?'

God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.

''Who will protect me?'
God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.

''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.'

God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.

The Big Red Barn

Daniel, his Dad Keith, Kalissa and Annalin in front of the barn on the farm where Daniel grew up. They have sold the barn to be used for the wood. It will be taken down soon. Daniel is a little sad about it and wanted a couple of pictures before it was gone. It is really quite old and of no use any more. I have only been in it a couple of times but it is fun to hear about all the stories from when they were growing up and all the play places they had inside.

Kalissa's Birthday Party

We played musical chairs and duck, duck, goose.
Tied balloons to their feet and tried to pop them.
Opened presents. It only took 2 blows to blow out all 6 candles!
And ate birthday cake.

I think she had fun.

Kalissa's Birthday Cake

We had Kalissa's birthday party on Saturday May 3rd. This is the cake I made for her. It is supposed to look like a present. I think it turned out pretty good. Daniel says it is a waste to frost cakes with fondant becuase you just have to pull it off and eat what is under it. However most of the kids ate the frosting and left the cake. Because everything was edible they all went for the ribbons and polka dots first. I am sure their parents were grateful for all the sugar they ate while at our house. (The fondant is strictly marshmallows and powdered sugar. :) )

I was hoping the party would have put me into labor but unfortunately I am still with child. (Only for 3 more days though!!!!!)
