A Snake!

Yesterday we stopped by the dollar store and found these cute sand toys. The girls had to have them and for a dollar I gave in. We don't have sand but they wanted to dig in the dirt with them. I left them out in the front yard digging and went in to make dinner. Ten minutes later they came screaming hysterically in the house, "a snake, there's a snake in Anna's bucket." I thought I guess there could be one but it is still quite cold up here and how could a snake have got in there? So I went and looked in the bucket. The scary snake turned out to be a worm! I couldn't stop laughing to myself. Funny girls.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KALISSA

Kalissa turned 6 years old yesterday April 28. She has been counting down for weeks. We had to make her, her own calendar to put on her wall so she could count the days every night. She had been waking up around 6am for the last 4 days reminding us that her birthday was coming up. She wanted some thing different every time she talked to us about it. She was so excited and was given way to many gifts but loved them all. She was very funny about her roller skates. She had a hard time trying to skate. It was funny to watch her try to keep her legs together. She appeared to be drunk. Both Daniel and I got to take turns holding her up. She did better in the house on the carpet than outside. I am sure she will pick it up soon though. We took her to dinner at Wingers (her choice) and then she got ice cream at Cold Stone. We didn't do a birthday cake because she wanted to save that and have it for her party with her friends/cousins. Hopefully that will happen Saturday. We'll see if I am up to it. At the end of the day she said that she still didn't look 6, just 5. It was pretty funny, I am not sure what big change she wanted to have happen. But I think she had a happy day.

Baby Update

I am so glad that our baby is almost here. Yesterday at my appointment, my attempt to talk the Doctor into delivering the baby early didn't work. I am still scheduled for May 8th. Two weeks from yesterday. However now that I passed the 2 week mark I can tell people I will deliver in just over a week. It sounds better than just under 2 weeks. Since I have scheduled c-sections, unless I go into labor before then I know that will for sure be the day (which is also my Dad's birthday). I am measuring full term already so I guess I could actually go into labor at any time. Or I may just have a huge baby.

Grocery Shopping

I don't know if I am the only one that doesn't like taking kids to the store but I try to advoid it at all costs. Yesterday we had to run in a get just a few things. When we went to get a gallon of milk they were stocking the shelves from behind. Not watching what they were putting out I just grabbed one and put it in the cart and kept walking. When we stopped again Anna looked at me, placed her hands on her hips and said "Mom you just stoled that from that man." It took me a minute to figure out what she was talking about, then I realized I must have grabbed the one they had just stocked. I tried to explain that they were putting the milk on the shelf so we could buy it, however she wouldn't hear it. She just kept saying over and over, "you stoled that Mom." It was so funny I laughed through the rest of our shopping trip. For any of you that don't know her or her voice this probably is not as funny as it was to me but boy, she was mad.

Dance Class

Kalissa has dance every Friday (that I get to fight with her about, although once she is there she loves it). At the end she always gets a little treat. Last week she was given pixie stix. With some major persuading she shared one with her little sister. I never realized how difficult it can be to explain to children how to eat a pixie stix. I told them they had to dump it in their mouths and not get it wet or it would get sticky and the powder would not come out. Now first of all why I let them eat them in the car is beyound me, however I did. Kalissa couldn't manage to not get it wet so she just kept tearing the paper down as she went. I couldn't tell what Annalin was doing with hers becuase her car seat is directly behind the drivers seat. When we got home I went to get her out of the car and asked her where the paper was so we could throw it away. She told me it was gone. She had eaten everything. Paper and all. I guess that was one way to get her treat.

Update

I really thought I would have something funny to write about. My children say funny things so often but they must be going through a dry spell. However Sunday while we were eating dinner I asked Kalissa if she liked Conference. She said yes. I asked her which one was her favorite speaker, she said President Monson. (She is only 5 and he is probably the only name she remembers.) I asked her what he spoke about. She said she forgot but that she changed her mind and liked them all. It was cute. We tried to get the girls to listen to as much as we could. They did okay for 5 minutes or so after they were reminded what they were supposed to be doing. It is hard to sit for such a long time and pay attention. But it really was a great conference.

We (I) am so excited the count down is on for this new baby!!! Only weeks left instead of months. I think she has the hick-ups constantly and wants to see how far she can stretch from side to side in me. Very uncomfortable! At my doctors appointment last week I was measuring big. That could have to do with the baby or possbily becuase of how huge I am. Which the doctor mentioned. (I started crying. I am to emotional while pregnant. But really, who likes to hear they are too big? That is the life of being pregnant I guess.) But the baby is fine. The heart beat was good. My blood pressure was good and I guess if I stop gaining weight everything else will be good too.

Anyone have any ideas for names? We have nothing. For months people said don't worry you have time. Well time is almost up. Daniel did tell me that he already knows what he is naming her and will let me know when he blesses her. Thank goodness we will have to fill out the birth certificate before then!

Easter March 23, 2008

The girls love their new Easter dresses. They love anything new. They were a little disappointed that they didn't get to wear their dress-up shoes that the Easter Bunny left in their baskets to church but they wore them before and after. We still had 2 feet of snow in our front yard and it was very cold. Not like those warmer springs in Utah that I grew up with.

New to Blogging

It has been so fun to read others blogs and to see pictures of people I haven't seen for years. I thought I would try it out. I love to email pictures to everyone of my cute family but this will be much easier to share the news of our exciting life.
